A meditation on patience, perception, and quiet trust

This morning nothing changed — and yet everything did. ✨

The cats wrestled in their usual tumble of fur and tail.
The sitar and tabla hummed softly through the room.
The rocking chair creaked in its familiar rhythm.

And there, in the south-facing window, Lil’ Moon — my Thanksgiving cactus — opened. 🤍

Not dramatically.
Not urgently.
Just… open. 🌒

My Lil’Moon Cactus

The Bloom I Didn’t Chase 🌿

For a few days I noticed something at the edge of my vision.
A small shape. A slight color shift.

I wondered if it might be a bloom.
Then I thought perhaps it was only a sun-stressed leaf.

But I never walked over to inspect it closely. I didn’t tilt it toward the light or pry at the petals. I simply thought:

If it’s a bloom, I will see you soon enough. 🤍

And today, I did.

That sentence — so simple — carries more revelation than the flower itself.

There was no urgency in me.
No need to confirm.
No anxiety about missing something.

Just trust. ✨

A Flower Facing South 🌞

Lil’ Moon wasn’t turned toward the living room.
She wasn’t performing for the house.

She was facing the south window — toward light.

There is something quietly holy about that. 🌒

Not blooming to be admired.
Not blooming for applause.
Blooming because warmth called her open.

How many times in life have I mistaken potential for stress?
How often have I rushed to diagnose what was simply unfolding?

This morning, the coral petals answered gently: Not everything needs to be examined. Some things only need time. 🤍

The Virgo Eclipse & the Devoted Flame 🌕🌿

This bloom opened under a Virgo lunar eclipse — across the axis of detail and mystery. Of tending and surrender. Of devotion and dissolving.

My own Vesta rests in Virgo — sacred flame of care and quiet dedication. And as the sky mirrors its opposite pole, the cactus does what living things do when the timing is right:

It opens. ✨

Not because the heavens demanded it.
Not because symbolism requires it.

But because readiness is its own calendar.

Virgo does not shout revelation.
Virgo refines perception. 🌿

And today perception refined itself.

Gloria & the Quiet Continuity 🤍

I bought this Thanksgiving cactus in honor of Gloria’s (my birth mother) birthday.
Her birthday — November 23rd — felt like the right day to root something living.

She has not bloomed since I brought her home.

Until now. 🌺

And I notice something steady inside me:
I do not need this to be a sign.
I do not need it to mean anything extraordinary.

It is enough that life continues.

Enough that coral petals catch winter light.
Enough that breath moves slow and deep.
Enough that memory can sit beside beauty without ache. 🤍

Continuity does not always roar. Sometimes it simply opens. 🌒

The Internal Shift ✨

Nothing in the room rearranged itself.

But internally, something has.

There is less grasping.
Less need to decode.
Less urgency to confirm.

The bloom came when it was ready.
And I was ready to see it.

That is the quiet alchemy. 🌿

The nervous system softens.
Perception clarifies.
Trust replaces tension.

And life — simple, ordinary life — reveals its petals. 🤍

🌿 Invitation

Beloved reader, where in your life are you hovering at the edge of something that might be a bloom?

What would it feel like to say, gently:

If it’s a bloom, I will see you soon enough. 🤍

May you allow what is unfolding to unfold.
May you face your own south window.
May you trust readiness over urgency. 🌒

And may you notice the quiet flowers that open without fanfare. ✨

With steady devotion and wonder,
