There is a quote often attributed to Jung that has been echoing through my thoughts lately…
“A god ignored is a demon born.”
The first time I encountered it, I didn’t hear it as a statement about external gods or demons.

I heard it as a truth about consciousness. 🌙
To me, a “god” is an archetypal current of being—a living capacity of the soul. 🌿 The nurturer. The protector. The lover. The creator. The mystic. The healer. The seeker. These are not separate beings demanding worship. They are sacred dimensions of ourselves and of the living world, asking to be brought into conscious relationship.
When we welcome them with devotion, they become allies. 🤍
When we exile them, they don’t disappear.
They simply return wearing different clothes.
🌿 The protector becomes control.
🕊️ The lover becomes attachment.
🎨 The creator becomes frustration.
🧭 The seeker becomes endless distraction.
🌙 The mystic becomes spiritual bypassing.
👑 The sovereign becomes domination.
Not because these qualities are evil, but because they have been disconnected from conscious relationship.
I’ve been realizing that so much of my own path isn’t about acquiring more knowledge or mastering another spiritual system. It is about learning to recognize what is already alive within me… and choosing to meet it with awareness instead of fear. 🍃
Perhaps our suffering is not always a punishment.
Perhaps it is an invitation. ✨
An invitation to turn toward the forgotten places within ourselves.
To listen.
To become curious.
To ask,
“What sacred part of me has been waiting to be seen?” 🤍
For me, this is what devotion has become.
Not bowing to something outside of myself.
Not commanding spirits.
Not striving to become more “spiritual.”
But participating consciously with Life itself. 🌎
With my ancestors. 🕯️
With the land beneath my feet. 🌲
With the rhythms of my own body. 🌙
With mystery. ✨
With the sacred currents moving through ordinary days.
The more I practice this way, the less interested I become in conquering my shadow.
Instead, I want to understand it.
Because perhaps what we call a demon is not something evil at all…
Perhaps it is simply a forgotten god asking to come home. 🤍
And maybe healing begins the moment we stop fighting ourselves long enough to listen. 🌿✨
🤍 I’d love to hear from you…
Has there ever been a part of yourself that you once feared, only to discover it was carrying wisdom all along?
