Gathered in the circle of stars,
the gods take their places.
Mars strikes the table,
Venus opens her hands,
Saturn weighs silence in his cloak of stone,
while Pluto whispers beneath the breath of time.
The Sun burns, the Moon reflects.
And I, the listener, enter the chamber.
Here begins the council within.

The Opening Flame 🕯️

Every birth chart, Jung wrote in 1954, “corresponds to a definite moment in the colloquy of the gods, that is to say the psychic archetypes.” With these words, he placed astrology not in the realm of superstition, but within the living theater of myth.

What if, then, every chart is a council chamber? What if the gods still gather, not in Olympus, but within us — speaking as archetypes, whispering as complexes, contending in aspects, and weaving their arguments into the fabric of our lives?

This new series, A Council of Gods Within, turns the lantern toward that inner round table. It is here that Saturn cloaks himself as shadow and teacher, Venus softens as beauty and love, Mars sharpens into courage and conflict, Pluto whispers of death and rebirth, and the Sun and Moon illuminate the path between consciousness and soul.

The Mandala of the Soul 🌌

Astrology, for Jung, was “the sum of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity.” Each horoscope is not prediction, but participation. The chart is a mandala, a symbolic map of the archetypes as they convened in the heavens at the hour of birth.

To read a chart is to overhear the gods in dialogue. Some voices quarrel. Others harmonize. Some fall silent until a transit awakens them again. The work of individuation is not to silence or exile these presences, but to listen — to hold the tension of opposites until something larger is born within us.

The Series ✨

This volume of Oracle & Lantern begins a new arc: A Council of Gods Within. Each entry will sit with one planetary archetype as it appears at the table — exploring both its mythic voice and its psychological expression.

We will visit Saturn: threshold-keeper, shadow-bearer, and the slow hand of time. Later, we will listen for Venus’s harmonies, Mars’s fire, Pluto’s underworld summons, and more. Together, they form not a doctrine, but a dialogue — one that continues within each of us.

Invitation 🌙

Take your own chart as a map of your council chamber. Which gods are in alliance? Which are in opposition? Where do you hear silence, and where do you feel the weight of Saturn’s hand?

This series is not about prediction, but about presence. It is about learning to hear the myth within the self — and to recognize that the gods are not gone. They are still speaking, and they are speaking through us.

Until Next Time,
