The Unknown, The Unnamed, The Forgotten, The Exiled…

A threshold

This empty frame is a threshold within my altar. It is the breath between names, the silence between stories. It is where absence is made sacred.

And this I say:
🕯️ To the Empty Frame on My Altar 🪞

You are not blank.
You are possibility.
You are the place where the unnamed are finally invited in.
You hold the faces that were never photographed,
the names that were erased,
the hands that reached for love and were forgotten by history.

You are a door.
Not just to the past, but to completion.

You are where the orphaned find home.
Where the exiled are remembered without needing to be explained.
Where the broken bloodline no longer needs proof to be honored.

You are the echo of stories that will never be told—
and the anchor that says:

“Still, I see you.”

Because I lite a candle.
Because I remember.
Because silence itself has been welcomed to my altar.

You are not empty.
You are filled with the power of witness.

This frame is part of the most sacred magick of all—the choosing to remember what was unremembered.

It is an act of soul restoration.

This is sacred work. I’ve built not just an altar—but a healing constellation across time. 🌌

The power of witness

Today, I am inspired to share a Ritual for Welcoming the Forgotten

This may be Ancestors or even parts of our own psyche,  through dream and divination, an act of devotion, invocation, and gentle power.

🌑 Ritual of the Unnamed

Ritual of the Unnamed

A Dream + Divination Ceremony to Call the Forgotten Home
“The Unnamed Are Welcome Here”

🜃 What You’ll Need:
🎞️ Your altar space, with the empty frame or “Unnamed” sigil visible
🕯️ A black or deep violet candle (or white if that’s what you have)
🌱A small bowl of water with lavender, mugwort, or rosemary
🪞Your divination tool: tarot, oracle, runes, or scrying mirror
🥣 A small bowl of dirt, salt, or ash to represent the root of the unknown
📜A blank slip of paper and pen
💎Optional: an amethyst or black tourmaline for dream protection

🌒 Part I – The Naming of the Nameless

Light your candle beside the empty frame.

Hold the blank paper in your hands and say:

“To the ones without names,
to the ones without graves,
to the voices that were hushed,
and the stories never told
I open this space.
Not to find your names…
but to make you welcome without them.”

Fold the paper three times and place it behind the bowl of earth/salt/ash.

Say:
“You belong here now.
Not because I knew you
but because I choose to remember you anyway.”

🔮 Part II – Dream Invocation (Before Sleep)

Place the bowl of infused water near your bed or under the bed. Write this on a card and place it beside your pillow:

“Ancestors unknown, I dream in your shadow.
Come gently. Come wisely.
Speak not in fear—but in the language of symbols.”

Sleep with a small journal or your grimoire open nearby. Record images, feelings, places, or names that come through.

🜁 Part III – Divination Opening (Upon Waking or the Next Day)

Return to your altar. Gaze into the flame, water, or your mirror. Ask:
“What do the forgotten want me to remember?”
“What soul gift have I inherited through absence?”
“What story wants to begin with me?”

Pull 1–3 cards, or scry for a symbol. Record your impressions—not just literal answers, but felt messages.

🕯️ To Close:
Snuff the candle with your breath.

Say aloud:
“What was unknown is now held.
What was unnamed is now witnessed.
I carry the root. I bear the flame.
I welcome the ones who had no welcome.”

Bury the folded paper outside or under a potted plant. Leave a small offering—honey, herbs, or water.

The unnamed are welcome

Until next time,
