Descent and Renewal: A Scorpio New Moon Rite
There’s a hush that arrives just before Scorpio’s darkness opens.
Not a silence of absence — but of presence.
A deep, low hum from the underworld of the self, where the bones of what was once sacred are stirring again.
Each Scorpio New Moon reminds us that death and desire are kin.
The things we bury still call to us — not to haunt, but to transform. This is not a moon for declarations or dazzling manifestations. It is a moon for composting the truth. For kneeling at the altar of your own undoing and saying, “Show me what I am without the mask.”
🌑 The Threshold
You may feel the pull toward solitude right now, or find that your emotions rise from hidden wells. That’s Scorpio speaking — the alchemist within, asking for the raw materials of your becoming.
What have you clung to that no longer fits the shape of your spirit?
What does your shadow crave to reveal beneath the layers of performance?
This lunation invites courage in intimacy — not just with others, but with your own depths.
🃏 3-Card Spread: The Lantern Beneath the Soil
This spread is meant to be done slowly — like a conversation with your own reflection in still water. Shuffle your deck under dim or candlelight and draw three cards face down. Turn them one at a time as you breathe into each revelation.
- The Descent — What shadow truth is calling to be witnessed?
- The Offering — What am I ready to surrender to the compost?
- The Renewal — What inner resource is ready to rise in new form?
Let each card reveal not just an answer, but a process. Write, weep, whisper, or laugh — all forms of exorcism count as prayer here.

🔥 Short Candle Ritual: “The Flame Beneath”
You will need:
- One black or dark red candle
- A bowl of salt water
- A piece of paper and pen
Ritual Steps:
- Light your candle and whisper:
“I welcome the unseen. I honor the ending that makes way for beginning.” - Write what you’re ready to release — fears, names, habits, illusions. Fold the paper three times toward you.
- Pass it briefly through the candle’s smoke, then dip one corner into the salt water.
- Speak aloud:
“Transmute, not destroy — renew, not erase.” - Let the candle burn for a few minutes more, then snuff it (never blow it out).
Bury or safely discard the paper in the coming days.
🔔 Invitation
Beloved seeker, may this Lantern guide you not with blinding light, but with the soft shimmer of faith reborn. Sit with your vessel, pour gently, and remember: even in silence, the stars are still speaking.
With devotion and wonder,
