There are seasons when our bodies whisper… and then there are times they thunder.
Lately, my own belly temple has been calling for mending — not through urgency, but through devotion.

The gut is not merely an organ system; it is a wise garden, a living ecosystem of memory, mood, immunity, and alchemy. It holds the echoes of what we’ve fed it, both in nourishment and neglect. And when imbalance rises, the invitation is not punishment… it is restoration. 🌱✨

🍵 The Mend — Herbal Tea for Gut Healing

When the belly aches for gentleness, I return to this warm, soothing brew.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp dried chamomile 🌼
  • 1 tsp dried calendula petals ☀️
  • ½ tsp dried ginger root 🜍
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds 🌿
  • 1 cup hot water

Sacred Preparation

  1. Warm your cup in your hands first — bless it as the vessel for your healing.
  2. Add herbs to an infuser or directly into the cup.
  3. Pour hot water, inhaling the steam as though it were a prayer.
  4. Steep 7–10 minutes, allowing the plants to release their medicine.
  5. Sip slowly, as if each swallow is a thread of mending being woven into your body.

🌀 The Psychology of Tending

We speak so often of “healing the body” as though it is a battle to be won.
But in truth, tending to our gut is closer to tending to an ancestral garden:
pulling weeds of overwork and stress, watering with joy, and feeding the soil with nourishment worthy of its sacred role.

The gut speaks to the mind, and the mind speaks back — in an endless conversation that shapes how we meet the world. When you soothe your digestion, you are also soothing your nervous system… and your spirit.

💌 An Invitation

If your gut has been speaking to you — in whispers or in roars — let today be a day of gentleness. Warm liquids. Soothing herbs. Rest without apology. Let the recliner become the temple, the blanket your altar cloth, and the tea your offering.

Your body is not asking you to perform.
It is asking you to listen. 🌙
